Łukasz Maciejewski, our lecturer at the Acting Department, received two awards for his artistic achievements.
In Warsaw, during the VIP Gala, Łukasz Maciejewski was recognized in the "cultural curator" category for 2025.
VIP Awards are presented to prominent figures in Polish public life to recognize and honour individuals who have impressive artistic achievements and professional success. The jury awards statuettes to those "who demonstrate unquestionable talent and determination in pursuing their goals."
On Saturday, October 25, at the "Kamera Akcja" Film Critics Festival in Łódź, our lecturer was awarded a Special Award for his outstanding contribution to the art of film.
Łukasz Maciejewski spoke from the stage:
"Among the many accolades that have been bestowed upon me recently, this one has special significance. It confirms my belief that the path I chose many years ago was the best possible one. I chose well, I made no mistake. I didn't have to search, I found it once and for all. Receiving this kind of lifetime achievement award, I can look at myself from the appropriate distance, from a perspective.
I started at a time when simply writing well was enough, and then you could rest assured that you'd be noticed. To this day, I haven't learned to push around or to keep up with the times at all costs, and I never will. I don't have to, I don't need it.
And I am proof that sensitivity, often even hypersensitivity, doesn't have to be an obstacle in this profession. That strength of character lies in something else: balance of heart and spirit. And the feeling of being at the right time, in the right place, with the right people by your side."
Congratulations for our lecturer!
