The International Leipzig Festival for Documentary and Animated Film DOK is a unique event and one of the oldest festivals in Europe dating back to 1955.

The 68th edition of DOK Leipzig runs from 27, October to 2, November.

We take a look at the International Animated Film Competition:

"Line, surface, colour, light, movement, time. Animated films can create an almost infinite wealth of interpretations, transformations, and reinterpretations of internal and external reality, using just a few basic materials. In the competition, international animation creators demonstrate the narrative and technical innovation of their art, in both short and feature-length formats," the organizers announce on the Festival website.

Of the 28 films in the competition, the latest film by our student Maria Dakszewicz, BAR CROQUETTE FREESTYLE, will have its international premiere.
So far, the film has so been shown in Poland, at the Koszalin Debut Film Festival "Young and Film" and the Shortlist of the New Horizons International Film Festival.

Film synopsis: A customer of the Croquette bar, eager for excitement, questions the appeal of her everyday life after watching a Bollywood film.
