This is a guarantee of quality and reliable documentary cinema. The anniversary edition is approaching under the Honorary Patronage of the Rector of the Lodz Film School, Milenia Fiedler.
The "Man in Danger" Media Festival features competitions and screenings of the best Polish and international documentaries, presentations of carefully selected video and audio reports, and meetings with filmmakers, reporters, journalists, and podcasters. The guest list is impressive – we encourage you to take advantage of the opportunity to talk with them, get to know them, and exchange views.
The films and reports presented at the festival address the threats and fears we face every day. People fear the unknown, fear what they don't understand, and sometimes project this fear onto others. They fear for themselves, for their loved ones, for the world they live in. They fear losing control, or failing to cope. They fear war, disease, the loss of meaning in life. They fear tyranny, lack of money, job loss. Finally, they fear... themselves.
The 35th Media Festival "Man in Danger" runs in Łódź from 15 to 19, October, 2025.
We recommend paying special attention to several programme points.
* JACEK BŁAWUT'S RETROSPECTIVE *
Our graduate of the Cinematography Department and lecturer at the Directing Department
"We were a bit apprehensive, having no idea how to honour Jacek the filmmaker and Jacek the man in a unique way at a festival that falls in the year of his, which is truly hard to believe, 75th birthday. Fortunately, Dr. Michał Dondzik came to our aid and came up with the idea of recalling those films by Bławut which were his debuts in various forms of filmmaking," (excerpt from the organizers' statement)

* DOROTA WARDĘSZKIEWICZ'S RETROSPECTIVE *
Graduate of the Lodz Film School in editing and television production and lecturer
"An editor is the first viewer, a professional and hypercritical one," Paweł Łoziński told Ola Salwa in an interview for the Polish Filmmakers Association Magazine. "She wasn't on set when we were cold, she doesn't know if our feet went numb, which, in the director's mind, often translates into the emotional value of the material. She sees what works and what doesn't.
At this year's festival, we will present a wide variety of films in which the heroine of the retrospective had a huge impact on making them work. We will show films considered the absolute top of Polish cinema, as well as films that have undeservedly been somewhat forgotten, and those much loved by Dorota Wardęszkiewicz herself." – (excerpt from the organizers' announcement)

* IN TRIBUTE TO MARCEL ŁOZIŃSKI *
Our directing graduate "
In 2024, we celebrated the unveiling of Marcel Łoziński's star on the Walk of Fame on Piotrkowska Street; this year, with great sadness, we want to symbolically pay tribute to the director, who passed away on August 20, 2025," the organizers announced.
A one-time screening of short films directed by Marcel Łoziński will take place on 16, October, at 12:45, in the Odeon cinema (Ec1 Łódź).
Additionally, in the Documentary Film Competition, we recommend to viewers:
INDISTINCT CLATTER OF BIRDS dir. Franciszek Berbeka (our directing student)
TRAINS dir. Maciej Drygas (our lecturer at the Directing Department) LETTERS FROM WOLF STREET dir. Ajrun Talwar (our directing graduate)
