On Saturday, 20, September, the 25th anniversary of the Film Editing faculty was celebrated. Over 200 alumni, faculty staff and friends gathered on the school's campus to celebrate the anniversary.

We celebrated a quarter-century of the history of the development of Polish editing and artistic education related to this profession.

The initiator of establishing the "Film Editing" specialization was Professor Mieczysław Lewandowski, who also put forward the curriculum and developed it with the help of other invited teachers. Among them were: Lidia Zonn, Milenia Fiedler, Dorota Wardęszkiewicz, Jarosław Kamiński, Zbigniew Kostrzewiński, Marek Król.

In the years 1999-2011, 214 students took up part-time studies, and since 2006 until the present day, 213 full-time students have attended.

Over the years, students and faculty have made a significant impact on Polish cinema. Their most notable achievements include: 49 nominees, including 16 winners of the Polish Film Awards "Orły" (Eagles); 16 awards for editing at the Polish Film Festival in Gdynia; 11 awards for editing at the Krakow Film Festival; and 13 awards for editing at the "Two Theatres" Polish Radio and Polish Television Theatre Festival.

During the event, the following speakers spoke: Milenia Fiedler (Rector of the Lodz Film School and Head of Faculty in 2016-2020), Jarosław Kamiński (Head of Faculty in 2012-16 and 2020-21) and Maciej Pawliński (current Head of Faculty), who emphasized the importance and strength of the community built over the years, full of mutual support and creative exchange of ideas and experiences.

We wish all those associated with the Faculty continued success and see you at the next anniversary.
