Franciszek Dźwierżyński’s documentary film WiO will be presented in the student competition of the Manaki Brothers International Cinematographers’ Film Festival in North Macedonia.

The MANAKI BROTHERS is the world’s first and oldest international festival dedicated to the creativity of cinematographers. The 46th edition of the Festival runs from 20 to 26, September.

This year’s Crystal Camera student competition features a student documentary film, WiO, directed by Franciszek Dźwierżyński, a student of the Faculty of Cinematography and Television Production.

Film synopsis: A young horse is about to undergo its first dressage. Race day is approaching at the racetrack. Galloping, the horses inspire admiration with their strength and grace, but do racing truly allow them to be free, or is it merely the fulfillment of human ambition?

Credits:
direction, cinematography, editing: Franciszek Dźwierżyński
artistic supervision: Wojciech Staroń
cast: Marcin Biedroń, Bolot Kalysbek Uulu

The film had its world premiere at the Tampere Film Festival and was later screened at the Koszalin Film Debut Festival.

Now we're keeping our fingers crossed for Franciszek once again.
