Izabela Łapińska, a lecturer at Film Art Organization Dept., will be a guest at the ART IN FASHION group exhibition. We invite the American public to the opening on Sept. 5th at 6 p.m. at PIASA in NY.

The New York ART IN FASHION exhibition, including Professor Izabela Łapińska's section entitled "Sensuality from the Scheibler Power House," has been organized in cooperation with the Polish Institute of Arts & Sciences of America PIASA in New York and the Metropolis Artists Agency in New York.

This is a unique opportunity to present Professor Izabela Łapińska's series of photographs to an international audience, promoting not only Polish photography and the city of Łódź, but also the developing dialogue in art.

The ART IN FASHION exhibition brings together artists from various creative disciplines in a collaborative exhibition focused on fashion. It features works by photographers, models, and fashion designers.

Photographs from the series "Sensuality from the Scheibler Power House" is a series of photographs of the collection by Sergiusz Kuchczyński, professor of the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź, taken in one of the most beautiful examples of industrial Art Nouveau in Europe, the Karol Scheibler Cotton Products Society Power Plant in Łódź.

Professor Łapińska's photographs will be presented alongside paintings by model Brana Dane, renowned New York photographer Patrick Anderson, and Macrae Marran.

The series of black-and-white photographs, "Sensuality from the Scheibler Power House," is the quintessence of effective seduction, sensual beauty, "pure" femininity, naked yet clothed. And wherever nudity appears in photography, provocation also begins. Visually aesthetic, pure sensual beauty dressed in the unique creations by Sergiusz Kuchczyński arouses curiosity and desire.

The "Sensuality from the Scheibler Power House" photographs are my personal portrayal of femininity. I don't shy away from nudity, but I strive to delve deeper beneath the skin, beneath the disguise, beneath the fashion which mysteriously envelops ethereal femininity, the curves, the ephemerality, the delicacy, the fragility and strength, the somatic nature of our female body. The muting of eroticism through subtle means becomes sensuality, a phenomenon which, it seems to me, is closer to the woman photographer. It is inner beauty, but also a tribute to the ideal form, shape, and perfection of a woman.

Despite the masquerade, I am looking for identity in the photographed woman; I am looking for a symbiosis of body and dress, exposing the woman to display and adoration," says Izabela Łapińska about the series.

The exhibition opening will take place just before the most prestigious annual fashion event, New York Fashion Week, and will be an excellent opportunity to present photographs related to the world of fashion in the Łódź factory setting to a wider audience.
