Our editing student received the LAB Special Award at the recent Octopus Film Festival for his autheur independent film, "EPITAPH FOR A DOG DETECTIVE." Congratulations!
This year's edition of Octopus FF took place from 5 to 10, August.
EPITAPH FOR A DOG DETECTIVE, directed by Michał Krzyczkowski, is an independent animated film whose screenplay was developed during the Film Experiment Analysis classes led by Marta Giec at the Lodz Film School.
The film was screened in the SHORTS competition section and received an award in the LAB category.
Jury statement: "For a risky and utterly fascinating exploration of a new visual narrative language rooted in the collective memories of a generation, exposing their forgotten, repressed anxieties."

film synopsis: A flashback through the eyes of a child raised in a small Polish village. VHS cartoons, Jesus, and a nearby slaughterhouse come under threat when the blinding light of the future appears on the horizon.
