On August 23, we invite you to the auditorium of the Faculty of Architecture of the Wrocław Polytechnic where films by our students will be screened.

On 23, August, 2025, the auditorium of the Faculty of Architecture at Wrocław Polytechnic will become a meeting place for cinema and literature. As part of a collaboration between Polish Cinema for Beginners, the European Night of Literature, and the Spektrum Festival, audiences will be able to see a set of short films selected by participants in the Class of 2025 educational and curatorial programme.

This Saturday, August 23rd, from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., there will be a free, open screening of short films as part of the Polish Cinema for Beginners project. The selection was made by international young residents of Wrocław who participated in a series of workshops and together built their own narratives about contemporary Poland.

The programme includes both documentaries and fiction films, including films by students of our School: MY SECRET CYBERLOVE, directed by Bartek Stankiewicz), ENDS AND BEGINNINGS, directed by Klaudia Fortuniak, DUCK BROTH, directed by Maria Dakszewicz, and films by our graduate - GORZKO / A CAPELLA, directed by Marcin Kluczykowski. These are young filmmakers who boldly explore new themes and storytelling languages, and their works are gaining recognition in Poland and abroad.

The programme of the evening:
● 7 p.m. – GORZKO / A CAPELLA, dir. Marcin Kluczkowski
● 8 p.m. – Block of short films: JAK BYĆ MĘCZENNIKIEM (M. Rzontkowski), DUCK BROTH (M. Dakszewicz), GDZIEŚ, GDZIE JEST OGIEŃ (A. Podoliakina), DREAMER (P. Kaźmierczak)
● 9 p.m. – MY SECRET CYBERLOVE, dir. Bartek Stankiewicz

The screening will be an integral part of the European Literature Night. The entrance to the Faculty of Architecture auditorium at Wrocław Polytechnic (3rd floor, building near Tołpa Park) will be open from the courtyard. Volunteers will be on hand to help viewers find the event venue.

Polish Cinema for Beginners is a unique educational and film project organized by the Wrocław Film Foundation. Since 2012, it has invited Polish and international audiences to discover Polish cinema through screenings, meetings, and discussions. Screenings are held entirely in English and are aimed at non-Polish speakers who want to learn about Polish culture.

The project is co-financed by the City of Wrocław and the Polish Film Institute (PISF). European Literature Night is co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage as part of the National Reading Development Programme 2.0 for 2021–2025.
