The film First Spring Wind (Haruichiban) by Jun Akagawa screens at the 36th Student Film Festival in Tokyo. Fingers crossed!

TOGAKU, or TSFF, officially the Tokyo Student Film Festival, is an event featuring a competition screening of our student filmmaker Jun Akagawa's film, THE FIRST SPRING WIND. TOGAKU is the largest and longest-running student film festival in Japan. Jun Akagawa's film, produced by the Lodz Film School, is among the festival's nine competition films.

The festival organizers write: "Students fascinated by cinema are creating films, trying to captivate audiences with their work. Student films aren't something that most people are interested in. However, these students will soon shape the Japanese film industry. Their free, daring, and interesting ideas can only be carried out during this special period of being students. We want to show that student films can be incredibly engaging ".

The festival runs from 16 to 17, August.

We’re keeping our finger crossed for Jun Akagawa!

THE FIRST SPRING WIND

Film synopsis: My grandmother, who spends her days alone, sets off to see her husband in the hospital one last time. However, due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, a plastic curtain separates them. Time, though limited, continues to flow; the seasons complete their circle, and the wind starts to blow again to announce the arrival of a new spring.
