Students! If you're interested in food, Asia, and picking up the sounds of foreign languages, or just want to experiment with documentaries, come join us for a workshop.

The workshop is part of the "Đậu phụ / tofu" project – an experimental audio-visual documentary which tells the stories of people of Vietnamese descent living in Łódź. All from the perspective of... tofu.

The project, which was initiated by Kinga Nguyen and has been run by her, is meant as part of this year's edition of the Łódź of Many Cultures Festival.

* What will be happening?

Three days of unique, creative work (approximately 7 hours per day), during which we'll tackle everything from production, cinematography, and sound design to editing and colour grading. We'll focus on topics related to food and flavours – primarily Vietnamese cuisine in Łódź.

The first two days will consist of shooting interviews, documenting, and exploring the cuisine and people. The third day will be devoted to summing up the work done and group consultations.

The results of the work—film, photographs, music, etc.—will be presented at Elektrownia Fuzja on 21, September, 2025, as part of the festival.

The workshop is open to all students of the Lodz Film School, but we especially welcome those who have fewer opportunities to work with a camera on a daily basis, e.g., production or screenwriting students.

* When?

We're planning the first two days (shooting) between August 18th and 25th – we'll work out the exact dates together to make it convenient for everyone. We'll provide equipment and some delicious food!

* Do you want to join us?

Just fill out the application form by August 10th [11:59 p.m.] https://forms.office.com/e/kaZvCqWk9d
Due to the limited number of places, selected people will be contacted by us.

See you!

The project was co-financed by the National Institute of Freedom - Centre for the Development of Civil Society as part of the Government Youth Fund Programme for 2022-2033, implemented by the OPUS Centre.
