From 1 to 3, July, screenings of films by our animation students and lecturers, as well as workshops and an exhibition on various animation techniques will be held in Portugal.
"Panorama of Polish Animation based on films by lecturers and students of the L. Schiller National Film School in Łódź" is a project involving screenings of animated films in Brussels, Matosinhos near Porto and in Porto itself.
The shows in Brussels are behind us, and now it's Porto's turn.
On 3, July at 3 p.m. in the Batalha cinema in Porto there will be a nearly 3-hour screening of animated films by students and lecturers of the Animated Film and Special Effects studies at the Lodz Film School. The screening will be accompanied by meetings with the young authors of the presented student films - including Zuzanna Heller, Agnieszka Popińska and Kinga Garncarz.
In Porto, around 30 animated films made at the Faculty of Animated Film and Special Effects at the Lodz Film School will be presented, including AB OVO by Anita Kwiatkowska-Naqvi, KIGO by Izumi Yoshida, I’M HERE by Julia Orlik, MY MUM by Agnieszka Popińska, GREEN by Karolina Kajetanowicz, THERE ARE PEOPLE IN THE FOREST by Szymon Ruczyński, SUCH MIRACLES DO HAPPEN by Barbara Rupik and HEADPRICKLES by Katarzyna Miechowicz. Lecturers including Piotr Dumała, Joanna Jasińska-Koronkiewicz, Aleksandra Chrapowicka, Agata Gorządek, Marcin Podolec, Piotr Milczarek will also show their films.
Panorama is a presentation of various animation techniques – from drawing, through puppetry, to computer animation, as well as various artistic styles. The project will show how the perception of the world has changed for young creators – animation students over the course of over 35 years of the existence of the animated film and special effects studies at our School.
From 1 to 3 July, the College of Art and Design ESAD in Matosinhos near Porto will also host workshops on various animation techniques. They will be run by, among others, third and fourth-year animation students - Zuzanna Heller, Aleksandra Andrijewska, Kinga Garncarz and Agnieszka Popińska. The Portuguese school will also host a screening of our animations and the opening of an exhibition showing various animation techniques based on the works of, among others, Joanna Jasińska-Koronkiewicz, Agata Gorządek, Aleksandra Chrapowicka and a collective exercise of second year animation students carried out under the supervision of Agata Gorządek and Piotr Matysiak.
