Representatives of the Film Art Organization Department of our School took part in international workshops during the Summer School in Greece organized as part of GEM - Green Education in Media.
In June, students of the Film Art Organization Department of the Lodz Film School took part in the international workshops LISTEN TO THE WATERS organized on the Greek island of Euboea as part of the GEM – Green Education in Media project.
This year’s workshop focused on the themes of aquatic biodiversity, sustainable media production, and new forms of perception through digital art and sound. The classes took place at the campus of the University of Athens and brought together participants from nine European art and technology universities.
Working in international teams, students carried out projects in the areas of interactive art, augmented reality (AR), location-based media, sound installations, and radio art. An important element of their creative work was also the use of low-energy technologies and renewable energy sources.
Our school was represented by: Michalina Pruska, Julia Szcząchor, Natalia Demczuk and Filip Kantor, who co-created projects in the following thematic groups: "AR walks in natural ecosystems", "Radio Water / Radio Fire" – sound narratives inspired by water, fire and biodiversity and "Interactive art in nature". The classes were also attended by lecturers from the Department of Film Art Organization: Małgorzata Kotlińska and Anna Pachnicka, who acted as mentors in international project groups.
The workshop on the island of Euboea became not only a space for creative experimentation, but also an important ecological and cultural lesson. Joint teamwork, field explorations, and evening presentations and radio broadcasts encouraged reflection on the relationship between humans and nature, especially in the context of climate change and the impact of digital media on the environment.
