At this year's edition of one of the most important animated film festivals, we will show films in the programme and take part in the V4 Student Forum.

The 18th edition of the festival will be held in Žilina, from 24 to 29 June.18. The Fest Anča festival in Slovakia, organized since 2008 by the Academy of Performing Arts, is one of the most important animated film festivals in Europe and the largest such event in Slovakia. In 2023, it was granted the status of an Oscar-qualifying festival.

The motto of this year's edition is "Our Bodies" - the festival invites you to reflect on the body, its deconstruction, transformation and giving new forms through the language of animation.

In the thematic section “AFN Presents: That’s What She Said, Vol. 02” we will show SUCH MIRACLES DO HAPPEN, directed by Barbara Rupik.

The programme also includes films by our graduates.

Our student representation from the Animated Film and Special Effects Faculty: Olha Cherpak, Aleksandra Andrijewska, Agnieszka Popińska, Dominik Kotlarz, along with lecturer Aleksandra Chrapowicka will take part in the V4 Student Forum. All of them will join in Alumni Talk, a discussion with the participation of representatives of other European art schools.

What is more, our 4th year animation student, Aleksandra Andrijewska, will take participation in the pitching session with her new project  - SPRING.

About the project:
SPRING is a personal portrait of the feelings of a young woman who falls in love. A story about exploring and trying to accept one's own mental and physical desires and needs. An uncomfortable journey of becoming a butterfly.
