What is a space between us? Is it a distance that can be measured, or perhaps a place of subtle tensions, assumptions and understatements? Can this which happens "in between" be more important than what is obvious and tangible? The second exhibition of the C41 Academic Club is a collection of photographic narratives by people associated with the Photography faculty at the Lodz Film School. "In the spaces between" is a meeting with sensitivities which build an intimate dialogue with space, human and image. It is not just an exhibition - it is a space for exchanging views and experiences.

The participants of the exhibition create visual references which touch on the themes of closeness, distance, intimacy and isolation. Using a variety of imaging strategies – from documentary to experiment – they create stories in which space becomes not only a physical background, but also an emotional resonance. It is in these “spaces in between” that something fleeting is revealed – the possibility of understanding without words, of empathy beyond time. The images act as traces – sometimes tender, sometimes disturbing – which lead through individual experiences to meet in collective reflection.
