Our students of the Film Art Organization Department took part in international co-production workshop organized during the 22nd Neisse Film Festival.

From 21 to 23, May, 2025, five students of our school took part in the international workshop FIRST START into International Co-Productions, organized during the 22nd Neisse Film Festival in Mittelherwigsdorf, Germany.

The event aimed to prepare young producers from Germany, the Czech Republic and Poland for the realities of working in the international film community. Among the participants were students from KONRAD WOLF Film University Babelsberg and FAMU (Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague).

The workshop included an intensive three-day programme focused on international co-production: from project development, through legal and financial aspects, to strategies for reaching audiences and career development. Participants took part in masterclasses, group work, pitching exercises and project mentoring, and presented their ideas to an international group.

From the perspective of our student, Magdalena Skiba, it was a unique opportunity to exchange experiences, test one's own concepts and reflect on personal and professional development. The participants' attention was also drawn to the differences in support systems for production debuts - for example, the possibility of making full-length feature films by German students while still studying. The event was not only educational, but also networking, creating a space for international contacts, cooperation and inspiration.

The initiator and supervisor of the project on behalf of the Lodz Film School was Małgorzata Kotlińska, lecturer at the Department of Film Art Organization.

We would like to thank the organizers Sächsische Filmakademie and Neisse Film Festival (Nysa Film Festival) for the invitation and the wonderful atmosphere of cooperation.

We hope to participate in future editions.
