Today, May 23, the École Supérieure d’Art et de Design in Orléans, France, will host the opening of an exhibition by our photography students and lecturers.

The opening of the URBAN LEGENDS exhibition will take place on 23, May 2025 at 6 p.m. at the École Supérieure d’Art et de Design, 14 Rue Dupanloup, 45000 Orléans, France.

URBAN LEGENDS is an international project which combines contemporary art, visual research and educational practice. It poses a question about how urban folklore, which is so elusive, ephemeral and merged with local urban mythology, can be transformed into the language of image, multimedia and narrative, subsequently incorporated into discourses on identity, education and aesthetics.

Developed by lecturers from the Lodz Film School – Paweł Bownik and Szymon Kobusiński, in cooperation with talented students, including: Eryk Siemianowicz, Karolina Smołka, Paulina Byczek, Monika Jóźwicka, Mikołaj Marciniak, Krzysztof Szpryngiel, Benedykt Rogala, Jeremiasz Wesołek, Wojtek Serowik, Łukasz Biernat , Ewa Januszewska, Ania Zegar.

The project explores the tension between the local and the universal, creating a network for the exchange of creative experiences between European cities.

URBAN LEGENDS is also an innovative experiment in the field of artistic education, supporting the development of young artists and testing new models of education in Europe.

The project is recognized by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage as part of the Polish Presidency of the European Union in 2025.
