Screenwriting student wins the 2nd prize for the text BYĆ TU OTO. Congratulations!

MAGDALENA KUĆKA (second from the left in the photo), a fourth-year screenwriting student, receives the Second Prize in the most important screenwriting competition in Poland - SCRIPT PRO for the text BYĆ TU OTO.

The text was developed in the third year of screenwriting under the supervision of Andrzej Mellin.

Jury statement: "For drawing a complex, multi-level portrait of a mother-daughter relationship in the convention of a road movie. Not only psychologically convincing, but skillfully combined with a well-told story about sexual initiation and maturing to honesty."

The SCRIPT PRO Competition – organised by the Wajda School and Mastercard OFF CAMERA in cooperation with the Polish Filmmakers Association, the ZAIKS Association of Authors, the Documentary and Feature Film Studio and the Kyoto-Kraków Foundation – is the most important Polish competition for screenwriters who are at the beginning of their careers.

For the authors, the competition is a chance for development, and for the producers, a guarantee that the final texts selected from several hundred entries deserve further attention. An integral element of SCRIPT PRO is the development of the final texts and further work on them at the Wajda School under the supervision of leading Polish filmmakers, screenwriters and consultants.

The awards ceremony took place during a gala as part of the Mastercard OFF CAMERA International Independent Cinema Festival in Kraków.
