Films by our students, doctoral students and lecturers are in the programme of the festival whose patron is Jańcio Wodnik. We recommend the screenings in the Wrzesiński Culture Centre in Września.
PROWINCJONALIA festival is a competition for the best Polish feature films, television films and documentaries about rural and small-town themes, as well as original and artistic cinema, dominated by the world of simple, universal values, subtlety and aesthetics of narration. It is often called a festival of peripheral and outsider cinema.
We are excited to go to Września where between 23 and 26, April, we will show the following films:
BREATHLESS, dir. Marta Socha
DUCH, dir. Jakub Gomółka
FAUSTYNA, dir. Natalia Dutkiewicz
HERTBEAT, dir. Jan Sokala, Katarzyna Kosajda
KOŃCE I POCZĄTKI, dir. Klaudia Fortuniak
LOVE IN THE TIMES OF INFLATION, dir. Zuzanna Heller
NO PEOPLE FOUND, dir. Jakub Gomółka
The programme also includes films by our lecturers – THE GIRL WITH THE NEEDLE by Magnus von Horn, THERE WILL BE NO OTHER END by Piotr Milczarek, and films by doctoral students – WHEN THE HARMATTAN BLOWS by Edyta Wróblewska, CROSSROADS by Dominika Montean-Pańków, and DANCING IN THE CORNER, directed by Jan Bujnowski.
As part of the festival, the NATIONAL FORUM OF FILM CULTURE ANIMATORS will be held; its topic is "Is Polish contemporary cinema able to generate new content, ideas, trends... is it progressive? Does the phenomenon of "hot water in the tap" not apply to filmmakers?" Among the guests of the Forum will be our lecturer, Dr. Anna Wróblewska.
The spiritual patron of the festival is Jańcio Wodnik, a philosopher and healer, the hero of the film by Jan Jakub Kolski. This character became the prototype for the statuette by Stanisław Sztamblewski from Kraśnica, awarded to the creators of the best films of the festival.
Fingers crossed for our representatives!
