This is the 18th edition of the Lodz Film School Film Review ŁODZIĄ PO WIŚLE. On 28 and 29, March, we invite you to the ILUZJON cinema in Warsaw, where you can see the best films by our students.

Before each subsequent edition of ŁODZIĄ PO WIŚLE, we face summaries of the past year, analyses and discussions. We want to show the Warsaw audience, representatives of the film world, media and invited guests what is most valuable at Targowa; what has been recognized by the jurors of Polish and international festivals and what we simply want to show because of the theme, form or extraordinary auteur character. We are happy to announce that this year 24 films by students of our School will be shown at the ILUZJON cinema. These are fiction, documentary and animated films, all made in 2024. Be ready for 400 minutes of good young cinema!

We especially recommend, among others, COMME DE COWBOYS directed by Julia Sadowska, awarded the “Golden Lajkonik” at the Krakow Film Festival, SERWIS directed by Michał Edelman, winner of the Grand Prix at the Warsaw Film Festival, GHOST directed by Jakub Gomółka, which premiered in the Millennium Docs Against Gravity competition, FAUSTYNA directed by Natalia Dutkiewicz, from the programme of the festival in Rotterdam, ORCHID directed by Tino Brendel, awarded the Golden Tadpole at EnergaCAMERIMAGE, or the animated DUCK BROTH directed by Maria Dakszewicz and MOJA MAMA directed by Agnieszka Popińska, which have already been shown at many Polish and foreign festivals.

The film cruise around the capital we will begin with a screening of the film DANCING IN THE CORNER, directed by Jan Bujnowski, a PhD student at our School, which was produced by the INDEKS Film Studio operating at our School. DANCING IN THE CORNER had its world premiere in the prestigious Semaine de la Critique section of the last IFF in Cannes, from where it returned with the RAIL D'OR award. It also received an award for the Best Short Film at the Les Arcs festival and was presented in competitions at international festivals in Tirana, Clermont-Ferrand and Poitiers. After the screening, we invite you to a meeting with the creators of the film: director Jan Bujnowski, cinematographer Jan Grobliński, editor Kosma Kowalczyk, production manager Iga Malińska and the film producer Marcin Malatyński. The meeting will be hosted by Bolesław Racięski.

In addition to watching films, we will also talk, exchange experiences and consult one another on the issues that interest us the most. Students who are close to starting a career in the film industry are invited to the discussion panel "Work in film - how to start and maintain the pace?", co-created by the SFP Youth Club and the KIPA Youth Section. And those who are just planning their studies at the Film School in Łódź are invited to consultations with students of our School, representatives of all specializations.

We hope that on 28 and 29, March you will visit us at the ILUZJON port, where only good young cinema can be seen on the horizon.

See you in Warsaw!
