The artbook "Powidoki/Afterimages", which was published for the 65th Lodz Film School anniversary, has been nominated for the Polish Film Art Institute Prize in the category "Books about Film".
The creation of “Afterimages" was supervised by : Marzena Bomanowska, Mariusz Grzegorzek, Anna Kazimierczak, Jakub Mikurda and Anna Zarychta.
In the album there are essays on remarkable people such as Maria Kornatowska, Wojciech Has, Jerzy Wójcik, Witold Sobociński, Grzegorz Królikiewicz, Konstanty Lewkowicz, as well as authobiographical essays by Zbigniew Rybczyński, Jolanta Dylewska, Ryszard Lenczewski, Mariusz Grzegorzek, Piotr Dumała and Mariusz Wilczyński. The graphics for the publication focusing on the Lodz Film School was prepared by young artsists – students of animation, direction and photography: Izumi Yoshida, Apolejka, Jagoda Szelc, Mariko Saga, Matej Bobrik, Marcin Surma, Marcela Paniak, Robert Mainka and others.
The prizes granted by the Polish Film Art Institute represent significant recognition in the field of film art appreciating the work of individuals and institutions not connected directly with film production. They are the only Polish prizes which are granted in over a dozen categories for considerable achievements in promoting Polish cinema and facilitating access to Polish films. They have been granted since 2008. The prize granting gala will take place during the 39th Polish Film Festival in Gdynia 15-20 September. A complete list of nominations:
