"Miruna" by Piotr Sułkowski, a fifth year Lodz Film School direction student, pronounced the best European Short Film at the Alicante Film Festival in Spain.

„Miruna" by Piotr Sułkowski, a fifth year Lodz Film School direction student, has been recognized as the best European Short Film at the Alicante Film Festival in Spain. Over two hundred European films competed for the prize. Piotr Sułkowski’s film with Andrzej Chyra in it was shot by Przemysław Brynkiewicz. The film has also been noticed at other festivals like IFF Phoenix, The Garden State Festival in New York, International Art House Film Festival in Batumi, and IFF in Opava.

"Miruna" (2013) Synopsis: Fishermen claim that if you look straight into miruna’s eyes a part of the fish’s soul will become a part of yours. After a quarrel with her boyfriend a girl gets into a car of a stranger. During the car ride a mutual fascination is born and the man fulfils his dark obsessive desires. Eventually, the girl, in a strange way, shares the fate of the imaginary fish.
