The 3rd edition of the FREEDOM Film Festival in Radom ended on 13, July. Golden Archer for Mariusz Rusiński! And also – honorary mentions, awards, nominations. Congratulations!
The jury of the Polish Competition of the Radom festival was composed of: Paweł Maślona (chairman), Łukasz Gutt, Anna Mucha and Anna Waśniewska-Gill. The best of the twenty-six films in the Competition was a documentary directed by a student of our School, produced by Studio Munk – SISTER OF MINE. In the justification for awarding THE GOLDEN ARCHER - Grand Prix of the National Short Film Competition, we read: "For a moving, personal story about a family crisis and the healing power of love, realized with great courage and tenderness."
Special Award named after Krystian Dulewicz for the Best Cinematography went to our graduate, Ignacy Ciszewski for the film THE WHALE SONG directed by Klaudia Folga. The cinematographer was honoured for his great imagination, precision and skill in creating an original film story.
The Short Film Competition jury, composed of: Olaf Lubaszenko, Aneta Hickinbotham, Izabela Kiszka-Hoflik and Anna Próchniak, decided to award the Honorary Mention of the International Short Film Competition to the film AN ORANGE FROM JAFFA directed by our graduate, Mohammed Almughanni. The justification reads: "the honorary mention for the French-Palestinian-Polish production, which proves that cinema speaks a universal language beyond divisions and borders and can be an important voice for world peace." Film production: production Marcin Malatyński (INDEKS Film Studio), David Frenkel (Synecdoche), Patryk Sielecki.
