Szymon Ruczyński's animated student film is awarded The Golden Chair for the best international film at the Norwegian Short Film Festival (Kortfilm Festivalen).

Here is our previous news about international festival screenings of the film: filmschool.lodz.pl/news

The jurors of this year's edition of the festival decided to award the animated film THERE ARE PEOPLE IN THE FOREST, justifying their choice in the following way:

"The Jury for the International Competition give the award to a film which provides a warning against the rising tide of cruelty and inhumanity in the world yet is also a paean to those who make a stand and find the strength to help their fellow humans. With a style that is deceptively simple, with affecting moments of triumph and tragedy emphasised through visuals alone, the film lays bare the scale of a current humanitarian crisis with poignancy as the film’s skilfully realised aesthetic allows the audience to focus on the subject”.

This is another international award for the film by Szymon, a student who has already won awards, among others, at the festivals: Nijmegen Go Short Festival in the Netherlands 2024 and Krakow Film Festival 2023.
