A real pearl in Mexico - a review of Polish cinema entitled "First Works". The programme includes student films and first films by our most outstanding graduates and lecturers.

Polish Film Week runs from 21 to 29, May at the Cineteca Nacional in Mexico City.

This year's review will present film debuts of world-famous and respected Polish directors, including: Piotr Dumała, Agnieszka Holland, Krzysztof Kieślowski, Roman Polański, Jerzy Skolimowski, Andrzej Wajda, Krzysztof Zanussi and Andrzej Żuławski.

The audience in Mexico will also see films by our lecturer and head of the Animated Film and Special Effects Faculty, Prof. Piotr Dumała, who will lead the masterclass.

The second masterclass will be led by Kuba Mikurda, lecturer at the Film and TV Directing Department. The programme includes a film about Andrzej Żuławski – UCIECZKA NA SREBRNY GLOB (ESCAPE TO THE SILVER GLOBE) directed by our lecturer.

The organizers of the event are the Foundation for the Promotion of Culture HOMO VIATOR, Cineteca Nacional México (Mexican National Film Library) and the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Mexico. The partners of the review are the L. Schiller National Film, Television and Theatre School in Łódź and the production company ELLA FILMS.

The project was co-financed by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage from the Culture Promotion Fund.
