On 18, May, during the Night of Museums in Łódź, Bartłomiej Talaga will present a short performance DEPOISONING THE WELL at the Biedermann Palace in Łódź.
This Saturday, Bartłomiej Talaga will work on the installation CALLING TIME. Participants of the Night of Museums will be able to see the backstage of the exhibition and "work in progress" works.
A short performance is planned for 9 p.m. An audiovisual event in which, through sound and projection (mapping), Bartłomiej will conduct a sonic and original well detoxification ritual, i.e. he will interact with Andrzej Różycki's most famous work entitled "The Poisoned Well". The performance will last approximately 30 minutes.
After the performance, Bartłomiej will return to preparing the exhibition and will be happy to talk to visitors, for whom he will be available until 11 p.m.
* Audiovisual installation "CALLING TIME".
An installation created as part of the Fotofestiwal, which is also Sebastian Stasiek vel Staszczyk's bachelor's project and inaugurates the opening of the Andrzej Różycki Institute of Photosophy at the Alfred Biedermann Palace in Lodz. "Calling Time" is a dialogue between Bartlomiej Talaga and Andrzej Różycki on the past, a sentimental journey to evoke memories. The exhibition space is centred around the installation "Stu_dni dno", whose deep echoes permeate the areas of sound and image. It is primarily an experimental form of art presentation, combining photographic works, audiovisual materials and spatial installations that resonate with the space and dialogue with each other expanding the context of "Stu_dni". It is an invitation to experience the exhibition, not just to see the works on display.
Bartlomiej Talaga interacts with Andrzej Różycki's oeuvre by developing/calling his works in the space of his own artistic practice focusing on activities around the well motif. The installation is a moment of meeting between the past and the present, searching for meanings and combining symbols. Each work deepens the context of the well, and is another echo and memory of it. The whole project is not just a presentation of works embedded in a specific narrative, it is a planned space where we experience it somatically and emotionally.
Authors: Bartłomiej Talaga, Andrzej Różycki, Sebastian Stasiek vel Staszczyk (coordinator, producer).
Curatorial cooperation: Sebastian Stasiek vel Staszczyk, Karol Jóźwiak
The opening of the exhibition will take place on 11, June at 7 p.m. at the Biedermann Palace in Łódź.
Bartłomiej Talaga
Multimedia artist. In his work, he uses photography, sound, video, and installation. He is interested in the interpenetration of art disciplines, where sound, image and space mutually drive each other provoking energetic impulses. The frequency of the resulting audio/visual interference leads to RESONANCE - the main material of his artistic practice. He is a graduate and lecturer at the Film School in Lodz. Through his teaching, he shares his own experience - he focuses on the purposefulness and legitimacy of the gestures made which lead to personal and authentic expression. He is a co-founder of TON magazine (ton-mag.pl). and designer of photography books. www.bartlomiejtalaga.pl
