Lovers of vernacular photography are spending Friday evening May 10th at our School. See the programme and join in.
On May 10-12 2024, The Viva Archiva Foundation and The KAMERA Foundation in cooperation with Lodz Film School invite you to a Łódź City Trip with the French association Vernacular Social Club.
The Vernacular Social Club is a French association of vernacular photography enthusiasts, i.e. home, practical and local photography which allows you to see contemporary times in a different light. The French association travels throughout Europe, meeting local photography enthusiasts. The Łódź City Trip is an event open to all people interested in photography.
The programme includes, among others: meetings with social archivists who will present their projects based on the personal stories of residents of Łódź and other Polish cities, guided tours of the Film School Archive, a screening of the film "White Bear" directed by Jerzy Zarzycki from 1959 and participation in the Moto Weteran Bazar, one of the most popular commercial events for hobbyists, enthusiasts and collectors.
Friday night May 10 2024, will be spent at the Lodz Film School day with the guests from Vernacular Social Club and Oficyna Wydawnicza Oryginały.

• Presentation of the "Photo with Teddy Bear" project by Barbara Caillot and Aleksandra Karkowska from Oficyna Wydawnicza Oryginały.
21:30 - 23:00 / Lodz Film School Cinema Hall, Targowa 61/63, Rectorate building, 1st floor
• Screening of the film "The White Bear", Poland, 1959, directed by Jerzy Zarzecki, original language version with English subtitles.
Oficyna Wydawnicza Oryginały has published books about metropolitan Warsaw, the highland Tatra region, the seaside resort of Sopot, as well as people travelling on the legendary ship "Batory". All books have one thing in common - the memory of first, simple, personal things. The book connected with the "Photo with Teddy Bear" project will also be available at the Film School Bookstore. Be sure to check it out!
For Saturday and Sunday, the following events are planned: meetings with social archivists from Miastograf (Łódź Association of Urban Initiatives "Topografie") and from Fortepan (Fotofestiwal in Łódź), as well as tours of Łódź following film, textile and Jewish traces and joint discussions on memory, history, recollections - all this related to photographic archives.
