THE CLOWNS is the diploma film of the acting students, now graduates, of our School: Sebastian Dela, Jan Łuć, Justyna Litwic, Magdalena Dwurzyńska, Szymon Kukla, Jakub Dąbrowski, Karolina Kostoń, Klaudia Janas, Daniel Stanko, Oliwer Witek, Bogumiła Trzeciakowska, Klaudia Koścista, Jakub Sierenberg, Mikołaj Trynda. Gabriela Muskała who directed the film is a great actress, playwright, screenwriter and a graduate of our school. She has won many acting awards, including four Golden Mask theatre awards, an Eagle film award and the main prize at the Gdynia Film Festival. The film THE CLOWNS is her directorial debut in a feature film. What is worth noting is the fact that Krystyna Janda, Jan Englert and Robert Więckiewicz took a special part in the film of our graduates.

Two acting performances in the film directed by Gabriela Muskała were particularly noticed by the organizers of the OFF CAMERA festival. Magdalena Dwarzyńska and Sebastian Dela were nominated for Mastercard Rising Star 2024.

Congratulations and fingers crossed!

ABOUT THE FILM
Students from the Faculty of Acting find out that their graduation film will be made by the famous director Gajda. This news is electrifying – everyone wants to be in the cast. Gajda turns up only occasionally. He leaves the students a camera – in his absence, they are to shoot improvised scenes around the themes of jealousy and rivalry based on the stories of Cain and Abel as well as Balladyna and Alina. Later, he will see the rushes and decide who will play the main roles. As rehearsals begin, the students’ personalities, dreams and ambitions are revealed. What we also see are disproportions in the students’ acting talent, differences of opinion and financial status, envies, past transgressions, and complicated emotional relationships. We focus on the relationship of four characters. Professional competition overlaps with private rivalry. The line between reality and fiction slowly starts to blur. All four play a game for a part in the film, but this progresses into an all-or-nothing game…
