We are proud to announce that Szymon Ruczyński's animated student film THERE ARE PEOPLE IN THE FOREST has won the Award for the Best Polish Film in the amount of PLN 5,000, financed by the Marshal of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, Piotr Całbecki.

The jury included: Brit Raes, Krzysztof "Freeze" Ostrowski and Wiktor Stribog.

Jury statement: "Using limited audio and visual means, the film deals with a difficult topic in a matter-of-fact way, without moralizing. The minimalist approach has been carefully thought out and the colors consciously selected. The seemingly naive combination of perspectives reflects the complexity of different points of view. The lack of expressed emotions makes us become observers, looking from a distance, which forces us to reflect on our own feelings having watched the film".
