Coming of age: FALCON LAKE, dir. Charlotte Le Bon, 100’

direction: Charlotte Le Bon
cast: Joseph Engel, Sara Montpetit, Monia Chokri, Arthur Igual
country of production: France, Canada
year of production: 2022
duration: 100 min.

A charming initiation story about first love, friendship and... ghosts. Bastien and Chloé spend their summer holidays at the lake. A sixteen-year-old girl becomes a kind of life guide for a younger boy. She takes him to parties and introduces him to her friends, making Bastien, who is initially shy, slowly open up. The tension that can be felt between the characters is, on the one hand, tinged with curiosity, especially when Chloé tells stories filled with horror, and, on the other hand, with erotic fascination. Based on the graphic novel by Bastien Vivès, the directorial debut of acclaimed actress Charlotte Le Bon is a captivating story about that moment in life when you feel everything stronger and more intensely. Shot on 16 mm stock, the film is a beautiful, funny, but also slightly melancholic tribute to first love.

WALKI W KLATKACH – our students’ animated films 110’, GUESTS

These won't be the best films. These won't be the worst films. The organizers invite you to the essence of Lodz animation thought: animated student films collected in two blocks, including serious, funny, whimsical, twisted and heart-melting productions. The programme is shrouded in mystery, and all cards will be revealed only during the show, which is scheduled at the School Cinema on 14, March (Thursday), at 7 p.m.. This is a unique opportunity to see various animated films from the Lodz Film School and take part in a discussion with their creators after the screening. The Animation Department of the Lodz Film School and the curators of the show, Dr. Marcin Podolec and Dr. Kacper Zamarło, invite you to the event.
