"We love Łódź and we love Cinema and we want Łódź and Cinema to love each other." We invite the inhabitants of Łódź to participate in the School's events.
On the initiative of the Mayor of Łódź, Hanna Zdanowska, a meeting of university representatives with the media was held. Milenia Fiedler, Rector of our School; Agnieszka Grochulska, Chancellor of the Academy of Music in Łódź, and Przemysław Wachowski, Rector of the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź told journalists about the recent achievements of students, lecturers and graduates of Łódź art schools:
“Łódź is rich in culture and we want it to become better and better, as evidenced by the results of students and graduates of art schools. Łódź is becoming more and more visible not only on the map of Poland, but also on the map of the world” - said the Mayor of Łódź, Hanna Zdanowska “4 Oscars, 120 nominations, hundreds of awards at the most important festivals in the world. The prestigious magazine The Hollywood Reporter ranks the university as one of the most important in the world. You educate filmmakers who are recognized not only in Poland, but also internationally, and I would like to thank you for that” - said the Mayor of the city about our school.
“The Film School is very closely associated with Łódź, it is commonly called the Lodz Film School. The Lodz Film School was listed among the fifteen best film schools in the world. This year's latest achievements include two nominations of cinematography graduates for BAFTA, the most important British film award. Among the Oscar nominations there is THE ZONE INTEREST; our graduate Łukasz Żal worked on the film as the DOP and the producer of the film is Ewa Puszczyńska, who cooperates with the School” - said Milenia Fiedler, Rector of our School, during the press conference.
"We closed last year with a great balance. Films by students of our School have taken part in nearly 300 international festivals, reviews and screenings, returning from them many times with the most important film laurels - This creative practice is extremely important (...) Thanks to the students, Polish film is still present in the minds of cinema lovers around the world” - said the Rector of the School, who invited the inhabitants of Łódź to participate in the School's events:
"We invite you to the events hosted by the school - to the Studyjny Theatre - to the diploma plays of acting students, as well as the next edition of the Theatre Schools’ Festival - a fantastic May event where students of the diploma years of all theatre schools in Poland present themselves on stage. We also invite you to our cinema - we organize interesting screenings, we invite guests - it is a kind of film discussion club. We love Łódź and we love Cinema, and we want Łódź and Cinema to love each other.”
