The Polish Film Academy announced the nominations for EAGLES. Among the nominees are: our School Rector, lecturers and graduates. The winners will be announced on 4, March during the 26th Eagles Gala.

Over eight hundred members of the Polish Film Academy cast their votes for the nominees for EAGLES Awards. On Thursday, February 8, the voting results were announced.

Here are the artists associated with our school who are among the nominees.

In the BEST FILM category:

• DOPPELGANGER. THE DOUBLE directed by Jan Holoubek, graduate of the Cinematography and TV Production Dept.
• GREEN BORDER directed by Agnieszka Holland, Lodz Film School Doctor Honoris Causa laureate

In the BEST DOCUMENTARY FILM category:
• PIANOFORTE directed by Jakub Piątek, studied at the Directing Dept, and at present is our lecturer
• FACES OF AGATA directed by Małgorzata Kozera, graduate of Directing Dept.

In the BEST FICTION FILM SERIES category:

• 1670 directed by Maciej Buchwald (Directing graduate) and Kordian Kądziela. 
• ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS directed by Kamila Tarabura and Katarzyna Warzecha. The co-originator of the series and screenwriter is Nina Lewandowska, a screenwriting graduate. The screenwriting team of the series also includes another screenwriting graduate - Jędrzej Napiecek.
• FEEDBACK directed by Leszek Dawid, vice-dean, lecturer and graduate of the Directing Department, written by Kacper Wysocki, lecturer and graduate of the Screenwriting Department.

In the BEST DIRECTION category:
 
• Jan Holoubek for the film DOPPELGANGER. THE DOUBLE
• Grzegorz Dębowski, Directing Dept. graduate, for the film NEXT TO NOTHING
• Agnieszka Holland for the film GREEN BORDER

In the BEST SCREENPLAY category:
• Andrzej Gołda, graduate of Screenwriting Studies at our school, for the film DOPPELGANGER. THE DOUBLE.
• Grzegorz Dębowski for the film NEXT TO NOTHING
• Maciej Pisuk, Gabriela Łazarkiewicz-Sieczko and Agnieszka Holland for the film GREEN BORDER

In the BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY category:
graduates of Cinematography and TV Production Dept:
• Bartłomiej Kaczmarek for the film "DOPPELGANGER. THE DOUBLE.

• Michał Sobociński for the film FILIP
• Piotr Sobociński jr for the film KOS
• Tomasz Naumiuk for the film GREEN BORDER
• Paweł Edelman, for the film THE PALACE, our school lecturer and graduate

In the BEST EDITING category:
• Milenia Fiedler, school’s rector and lecturer, for the film THE PERFECT NUMBER
• Rafał Listopad, our editing graduate and lecturer – two nominations for the film DOPPELGANGER. THE DOUBLE and for the film SHREDS

• Nikodem Chabior, our editing graduate, for the film FILIP
• Piotr Kmiecik, our editing graduate, for the film KOS

In th BEST LEADING ACTRESS category:
• Marta Nieradkiewicz, our acting graduate, for the role in the film ANXIETY

In the BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR category:
• Piotr Pacek, our acting graduate, for a role in the film KOS

In the DISCOVERY OF THE YEAR category:
• Grzegorz Dębowski for directing the film NEXT TO NOTHING

Polish Film Awards „Eagles” were established in 1999. They are organized by the Independent Film Foundation for the Polish Film Academy.

On 29, February, Thursday, there will be a meeting with the nominees and a press conference during which this year's winner of the Eagle in the Lifetime Achievement category, will be announced. The 26th Eagles Gala will take place on Monday, 4, March, at the Polski Theatre in Warsaw and will be broadcast on CANAL+.
