In the series of Master Workshops of the Acting Department, students had the opportunity to participate in classes conducted by Gael and Laura Doarneweerd-Perry, renowned creators of improv theatre.
From 24 to 27, October, an acting workshop was held led by the renowned French-Dutch duo - Gael and Laura Doarneweerd-Perry - improvisation theatre instructors who have been successfully conducting classes dedicated to the improvisational form of stage expression for several years.
Students and teachers of the Acting Department participated in the workshop which took place at the Studyjny Theatre.
The event was co-financed from the state budget by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage as part of the ARTISTIC EDUCATION 2023 programme.
Here’s the information about the people who ran the workshop:
Gael Doorneweerd-Perry – teacher, improvising actor, theatre creator, performer, educator and artistic leader of the Lolita improv group; collaborates with Laura Doorneweerd-Perry; from 2012 to 2020 he worked as an actor, and in 2012-2019 also as the director of the La Carpe Haute Improvisation Theatre in Strasbourg; and since 2020 he has run Flock Theatre - Improvised Theatre in Amsterdam; since 2021 he is the artistic director of the IMPRO Amsterdam festival; he is a recognized creator of improvisation theatre, took part in festivals in Lausanne, Bydgoszcz, Tampere, Lutra, Mons, Antwerp, Berlin and Cairo; conducted workshops at theatre meetings and festivals in Riga, Istanbul, Antwerp, Dubai, The Hague, Bangalore, Hong Kong, Melbourne, Atlanta, Pokhara, Red Deer, Singapore, Brussels, New Dehli, Hobart, Bordeaux, Alexandroupolis, Phnom Penh, Lyon, Oslo , Mumbai, Liège, Lausanne, Stuttgart, Amsterdam, Athens, Sarasota, Sofia, Canberra, Barcelona, Canmore, Munich, Bucharest, Leipzig, Karlsruhe and Vienna.
Here’s what he says about his work: "My desire is to learn a thousand different ways of improvising and create my own style from them. I travel around the world to share this new found way of acting, a little noisy, physical, but emotional and crazy."

She runs acting courses at the Flock Theatre in Amsterdam; conducts acting workshops at theatre meetings and festivals around the world - Europe, Canada, USA, Middle East, India, Asia and Australia.
