The jury of the Bydgoszcz Festival composed of Agnieszka Szydłowska, Michał Oleszczyk and Kuba Mikurda selected the winners of the EYE FLASH competition:

GRAND PRIX
for the film CALLS, dir. Ming-Wei Chiang (ex aequo with „Koniki na biegunach”, dir. Marcin Lesisz)

"For visualizing the everyday murmur of human complaints, cries for help and cries of despair that constitute the everyday life of the respondents of an emergency telephone line. For getting rid of the temptation to add more, or what would be worst to judge. For trusting the viewer, leaving him room for his own conclusions and interpretations".

Special Mention for Editing:
THE DISAPPEARANCE OF JANUSZ KLARNER, dir. Franciszek Berberka, editing Natalia Jastrzębska

"For the effective search for a form of a film story that while bringing us closer to the protagonist does not deprive us of the feeling that some stories go beyond the rational order. For weaving a film from found footage, which with each editing sequence becomes a building block of an alternative reality creating its own artistic dimension."

Prize for Editing:
CALLS, dir. Ming-Wei Chiang, editing Barbara Fronc

"For the intricate fabric of voice testimonies and cries for help that does not violate the intimacy of the speaker, and at the same time, wins over every pause, hesitation, sob and swearing born out of helplessness. For the sensational construction of a story full of tension thanks to the precise selection and editing of recorded conversations."

The Film Award of the Marshal of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship for the classics of the genre went to our lecturer Jan Jakub Kolski for the film JANCIO WODNIK. Congratulations!
