Jakub Gomółka's film was ranked second in the category of documentaries of the annual CILECT PRIZE. The films were judged by representatives of 102 film schools.

CILECT (Centre International de Liaison des Ecoles de Cinéma et de Télévision) is the International Association of Film and Television Schools associating over 180 schools and educational audiovisual institutions from 65 countries around the world. Our School also belongs to the Association which was founded in 1954 in Cannes.

Every year, the Association awards its prizes - CILECT PRIZE in 3 categories of student films: fiction, documentary and animated with the votes of representatives of member schools,. This year, 121 schools submitted their films and 102 of them cast their votes. The second position among documentaries was taken by the film FATHER. SON by Jakub Gomółka. The film was made under the artistic supervision of Maciej Drygas, Marta Prus and Jacek Petrycki.

The film’s protagonists, Mariusz and his son, having left prison, try to adapt to reality, intertwining the hardships of everyday life with prison habits. Contrary to popular opinion, their relationship is filled with love and self-reflection. The hero's sensitivity contrasts with the soulless reality that leaves a scar on former prisoners, excluding them from healthy functioning in society.

The awards will be presented during the CILECT Congress which will be held from 6 to 9, November in Rome.

Congratulations to Jakub and all the creators of the film FATHER. SON!
