Octopus Shorts, i.e. the International Short Film Competition, includes cool, (beyond) genre films and our expressive student fiction films.
Octopus Film Festival takes place in Gdańsk from 8 to 13, August.
„As part of the 6th edition of the Octopus Film Festival, we decided to present to the audience another dimension of genre cinema, this time expressed through the length of the film, which is why Octopus Shorts – the International Short Film Competition joined the programme. In a short film we are looking for exactly the same qualities as in a full-length film, i.e. creativity, creative courage, a hint of folly and a unique combination of genre inspirations with the director’s idea. Over 300 films from over 35 countries were submitted to the first edition of Octopus Shorts, including entries from Austria, Slovakia, Poland, Denmark, Portugal, Italy, Albania, Romania, Israel, Iran, Mexico, Colombia, USA, Canada, Japan, Hong Kong, Indonesia and more!” – declare the organizers of the festival.
