EWA BRAUN gets Life Achievement Award in Tarnów

On June 3, at the end of the 37 Tarnów Film Award Festival, the award for lifetime achievement and contribution to the development of Polish cinema was received by our outstanding lecturer Ewa Braun,

Ewa Braun, an excellent art director, set and costume designer, is a graduate of Warsaw University where she studied History of Art. Amongst her other achievements: Oscar winner for Art Direction for "Schindler’s List" by Steven Spielberg, member of the Oscar-granting American Film Academy in Los Angeles and Bronze Lion Winner for the film, "Cudowne Dziecko" at the Polish Feature Film Festival in Gdańsk. She has worked on about 60 feature films and many television series as a costume and set designer. She worked with renowned Polish and international film directors such as: Andrzej Wajda, Krzysztof Kieślowski, Krzysztof Zanussi, Agnieszka Holland, Wojciech Jerzy Has, Tadeusz Konwicki, Janusz Majewski, Steven Spielberg, Costa Gavras and Volker Schlöndorff.

The awards of this year's festival in Tarnów were also received by our graduates: Paweł Łoziński - Grand Prix for "The Balcony Film" and Jacek Lusiński - the Audience Award for the film "Śubuk", as well as our PhD student - Damian Kocur - the Gemini Park Tarnów Special Award for the film "Bread and Salt".
