Our acting students’ diploma show directed by Wawrzyniec Kostrzewski takes us to Warsaw in 1968.

Wawrzyniec Kostrzewski and Małgorzata Sikorska-Miszczuk are the authors of the theatre play which became the basis for the acting students’ diploma show. The creators of the show will take us to the revolutionary and at the same time disgraceful period of the late 1960s. "Students are demonstrating in Paris, Prague Spring is taking place in Czechoslovakia, 400,000 young people are dancing promoting the slogan "love, peace and happiness" in Woodstock (USA), ushering in the Age of Aquarius and the sexual revolution. In Poland, 1968 is the Double Date. On one hand, it is the year of "Dziady" taken off the poster and the student strike at the University of Warsaw which followed, accompanied by protests against the policy of Władysław Gomułka, the then the Party First Secretary, and on the other hand, the year of the disgraceful anti-Semitic campaign - the anti-Jewish campaign that forced the emigration of 13,000 Polish Jews," write the authors of the show.

"The Eyes of this Young Girl" is a diploma play of fourth-year students of the Acting Department. Cast: Krzysztof Surówka, Maria Kuśmierska, Kordian Dubkowski, Jakub Gąsior, Julia Mika, Aniela Kowalska, Małgorzata Polak, Maksymilian Król, Jakub Winnicki, Aleksandra Piotrowska, Maria Świłpa, Patrycja Sikora, Wiktoria Supryn i Maciej Walter. It is directed by the acclaimed theatre director and screenwriter Wawrzyniec Kostrzewski, winner of the awards of the Polish Radio Theatre Festival and the Polish Television Theatre "Dwa Teatry" (Grand Prix for the play "Suitcase", Grand Prix for "Wedding", award for directing and audience award for "Letters from Russia" "), laureate of the Stefan Treugutt Award ("Suitcase"), the Grand Prix winner at the Teatroteka Fest in Warsaw ("Suitcase").

The creators based the play "The Eyes of this Young Girl" on a true story. "We get to know a family living in Warsaw in which the father's identity is "revealed" to the authorities and society but also to his children. The family is getting ready to leave. Unexpectedly, the eldest son, Jerzy, is detained in Poland and deprived of any documents and like a contemporary Robinson Crusoe, he illegally camps in his former home (the so-called post-Jew property), trying to survive”, write Wawrzyniec Kostrzewski and Małgorzata Sikorska-Miszczuk.
