"Mother Earth", Piotr Złotorowicz's diploma film with cinematography by Nicolás Villegas Hernández was a true film festival winner - just to mention a few awards from a long list of awards and distinctions - Locarno International Film Festival, Festival Internacional de Cine de Gijón, Festival International Du Film D'Environnement in Paris.

The artistic supervisors of the film were Filip Bajon, Jerzy Zieliński and Jarosław Kamiński.
This is what Prof. Filip Bajon said about Piotr Złotorowicz's film to "Gazeta Wyborcza" newspaper reporter: "I speak about the film "Mother Earth" that it is pantheistic. It depicts God hidden in nature. There is an exchange of energy between nature and a family (…)".

Film synopsis: The film is a psychological drama in which father's expectations of his son are juxtaposed with the son's sensitivity and personal capabilities. Maciek, the film's main protagonist, is no longer a boy, yet still not a man. He wishes to live up to his father's expectations and according to the family tradition, continue the butcher's business. However, being sensitive, he is unable to hurt an animal. Instead, he cherishes the memory of his dead mother by finding refuge in her favourite old but now neglected orchard. Mother Earth is a drama rich in mystic elements rooted in the tradition of Polish countryside life.
