A doctoral student of the Lodz Film School is nominated for this prestigious award in the FILM category.

Polityka's Passports will be awarded for the 30th time this year - "We celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of Passports with a new generation of artists. In times of energy crisis and budget deficits, the artists are distinguished by their energy and surplus of talent" - we read in POLITYKA's information.

Among the nominees in the film category is Damian Kocur, a director whose feature debut - "Bread and Salt" - was a revelation of Polish cinema in recent years, winning awards at many foreign festivals (Venice, Antalya, Cottbus, Gijón, Cairo). Damian Kocur is a graduate of the Faculty of Radio and Television at the University of Silesia in Katowice, currently - a PhD student at the Lodz Film School.

In addition to Damian Kocura, Agnieszka Smoczyńska, a director appreciated for the film "Silent Twins", and Jan Holoubek, the author of the series "Wielka Woda", the Netflix hit of last year considered to be one of the best Polish series in recent years are nominated.

POLITYKA passports will be awarded in seven categories: FILM, THEATRE, LITERATURE. VISUAL ARTS, CLASSICAL MUSIC, POPULAR MUSIC AND DIGITAL CULTURE.
The winners will be announced on January, 17 next year.
