Is there a place for art, for theatre when we hear terrible news? When we live in uncertainty about the future? The answer is YES!
We invite you to the jubilee 40th THEATRE SCHOOLS FESTIVAL
The celebration of the theatre of the young is in its prime. This means that we know the bitterness of life and know how to overcome it. The first edition of the TSF appeared against the sadness of martial law. It seemed then that this was the end of the hopes of the nation and that an evil political power would suppress our dreams. And what happened? We eventually won our freedom. We won because we did not quit acting on stage or participating in concerts. Let us believe again in our art and our power. Let us imagine the world we want to live in, and let’s ACT it out !
From 9-15 May 2022, young adepts of Polish theatre schools will meet to exchange experience and share their artistic sensitivity with others.
After the pandemic, we organize the festival in May again because spring teaches us that life always renews itself. We trust in spring greenery and flourishing artistic talents. We also encourage you to do so: together let us draw hope from art, which we need so much now.
During the festival, 14 competition shows from the Theatre Academy in Warsaw and its Branch in Białystok, the Academy of Theatre Arts in Kraków and its Branches in Wrocław and Bytom, and of course the Acting Department of the Lodz Film School will be presented. The most moving of them will be awarded.
The jury composed of: Katarzyna Herman, Łukasz Simlat, Justyna Wasilewska, Robert Więckiewicz and Mariola Wiśniewska will decide who the prize winners will be.
To see the graduation shows, we invite you to the Kazimierz Dejmek Nowy Theatre and our Studyjny Theatre in Łódź. We want to attract as many viewers as possible to celebrate the anniversary with us, so the shows will also be available online on the 40th TSF website. Live as well as on the Internet, you will also be able to follow discussions as part of the Festival Club run by young critics. This is a tradition of our festival which proves that the theoretician's perspective can become a bridge between artists and viewers and a stimulus for in-depth conversation.
It is worth celebrating the festival of young theatre which will open with an event in the spirit of ZERO WASTE. Let us not waste our time, let us not waste our potential, let us not waste our experiences. Every moment is precious and unique. Big changes are made from individual decisions.
The end of the festival will be accompanied by a concert SURPRISE entitled "PURE ENERGY". All associations allowed. What would you like to cleanse? Air around us? Interpersonal relationships? Media messages? Institutions? Come and send your good energies into the air. Let the music that ends the festival turn out to be a refreshing spring start.
As part of the accompanying events, we invite you to meetings with artists, workshops and a series of film screenings "TSF Laureates on the Big Screen".
Look for reports and news on the website, IG and FB TSF, on the websites and social media of the Lodz Film School and the Studyjny Theatre in Łódź. Comment, share your impressions. Discuss and even argue creatively. Art is a space of freedom. Enjoy it. Celebrate it with us!
