The latest, 5th issue of the POWIDOKI magazine, published by the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź, is entitled "New Media". It looks at new technologies becoming the contemporary environment for creative practices. It presents various aspects of new media in Poland and abroad. It is a meeting place for artists and researchers where different views on digital art collide in the context of socially engaged art.

This issue features Luz María Sánchez, a Mexican artist who has created a collection of works about violence, death and loss.

The following are discussed in the 5th issue of the magazine:
- virtual psychogeography as a feminist experience,
- interactive documentary (VR) on termination of pregnancy,
- trauma of the "war against terrorism" in the virtual reality theatre,
- video games as a medium of art.

The authors analyze the aesthetics of virtual worlds, digital imaginations, cyberbodies, new media in art direction, the potential of a graphic matrix in ceramics or terms such as immersion, interaction and digital participation. The magazine also includes interviews with PanGenerator and Karolina Hałatek, snapshots from Lily Cook's exhibition at the Richmond Art Center in California, Piotr Wyrzykowski’s at the Contemporary Museum in Wrocław, and Nano exhibitions at the Portrait Studio in Łódź. Guest lecturers from the inter-departmental research unit - the Virtual Reality Laboratory in Krakow and the Władysław Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź will introduce educational aspects.

The discussion panel on new media will be attended by both the authors of the texts that appeared in the latest issue of the magazine, as well as experts and creators who experiment with this medium. The invited guests are associated with the artistic and scientific community in Łódź, they are lecturers at the Film School in Łódź, the University of Łódź, the Łódź Polytechnic and the W. Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź.

One of the aspects that will be heard during this meeting will be the issue of education in the context of new media art.

- Professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź, Justyna Cieślik-Płusa - costume designer, runs the Art Direction Theory and Practice Studio at the Institute of Animation and Artistic Education of the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź
- Dr. Marta Giec - video artist, creator of independent films, lecturer at the Łódź Film School
- Dr Monika Górska-Olesińska - researcher, lecturer, works at the Department of New Media and Digital Culture at the University of Łódź
- Prof. Marcin Składanek- researcher and academic lecturer, works at the Department of New Media and Digital Culture at the University of Łódź
Rafał Szrajber, PhD - urban planner and architect, graphic artist and photographer, lecturer at the Łódź Polytechnic and the Faculty of Design Arts of the Institute of Interior Architecture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź

The discussion will be conducted by Dr. Monika Masłoń - artist, graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź and doctoral studies at the Łódź Film School, academic lecturer.
