IZA  SZOSTAK https://www.centrumwruchu.pl/iza-szostak/
Choreographer, dancer and performer.
In her artistic practice, she uses the assumptions of new materialism, which allow her to perceive matter as an active and driving force, and to base her choreographic works on the created system of communication between the body and the object. As building material, she uses processed images from the field of visual arts and film, anthropological research, a private video archive and her own biography. In her shows, she explores hybrid forms: the body appears in them as a costume and as a medium - a carrier of emotional states. Choreography is an instrument for her to create a new order.

A graduate of the Ballet School in Warsaw and the Codarts-Rotterdam Dance Academy in the Netherlands. She studied at the Institute of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology in Warsaw. She also completed an internship in the Belgian band Troubleyn / Jan Fabre. The author of spectacles: RE//MIX–Merce Cunningham, Ciało. Dziecko. Obiekt, Europa. Śledztwo, Balet koparyczny, National Affairs, PRIV, le journal secret, Skaj Is the Limit.
For many years she has been working closely with the audiovisual artist Kuba Słomkowski. She co-creates the Warsaw choreographic collective Centrum w Ruchu and cooperates with the Dream Adoption Society - a laboratory that uses new technologies (VR, AR and AI) in its work. As a teacher, she cooperated with many cultural institutions, including Theatre Institute, Ujazdowski Castle, Zachęta Gallery, Studio Gallery Theatre.
