Polish Film Academy awards - the Eagles nominees have been announced in Warsaw. Among the nominees there are Lodz Film School graduates and teachers. In the category "best photography" – the nominee
The
selection for the Eagles 2014 nominations was made out of 46 Polish fiction
films and their authors, and in "the best documentary film" category
the Polish Film
Academy members have made their
choice out of 55 productions.
In the category "the discovery of the year" there are two Lodz Film School graduates: BodoKox in the category “best director” with the film "Dziewczyna z szafy" and Łukasz Żal in the category “best photography” with the film "Ida".
Among the nominees in the "best photography" category there are exclusively the graduates of the Lodz Film School Cinematography Department: Adam Bajerski with the film "Imagine", Krzysztof Ptak and Wojciech Staroń with the film "Papusza", Łukasz Żal and Ryszard Lenczewski with the film "Ida".
Our lecturer Janusz Sosnowski has been nominated in the"best art direction" category with the film "Syberiada polska".
Marta Nieradkiewicz, a Lodz Film School acting graduate, is a nominee in the category the "best supporting actress" for the role in "Płynące wieżowce", and Adam Woronowicz, a lecturer at the Acting Dept. of the Lodz Film School, has been nominated in the "best supportive actor" category for the role in the film "Miłość" by Sławomir Fabicki.
Janusz Gajos, who graduated from the Lodz Acting Dept in 1965, has been nominated in the „best leading actor” category, for the role of Andrzej Kostrzewa, the prosecutor, in "Układ zamknięty" by Ryszard Bugajski.
In the "best documentary film" category among the Eagle nominees there are two Lodz Film School direction graduates: Dorota Kędzierzawska for "Inny świat" and Paweł Łoziński for "Ojciec i syn".
In the category "best editing" among the Eagle nominees there are: Jarosław Kamiński, head of the Lodz Film School editing faculty, with the film "Ida", and Milenia Fiedler, the School’s lecturer, with the film "Wałęsa. Człowiek z nadziei" (together with Grażyna Gradoń).
The Eagle nominees were announced in the Primate’s Palace in Warsaw on 4 February at noon.
