Justyna Mytnik and Paulina Ziółkowska nominated in the Film Category of the 9th Polish Radio 3 Competition. Congratulations!

The jury members, who decided about the nominations in the Film Category, were: Jowita Budnik, Zofia Kowalewska, Jerzy Kapuściński, Piotr Domalewski, Ryszard Jaźwiński and Mariusz Cieślik. Beside the director, Justyna Mytnik and the animator, Paulina Ziółkowska among the nominees there is Jakub Radej who represents Radio & TV Department of the Silesian University in Katowice.

Justyna Mytnik is a Lodz Film School direction graduate. She received an MA degree from the University of Edinburgh where she studied history of art and English literature. In Scotland she worked mostly in theatre. She was an artistic director of the "Short Sweet Shock" Festival. Her play "Defunct Pig" was performed at Summerhall and the Fringe Festival. Her films were screened at numerous festivals, e.g. Clermont-Ferrand and Curtacinema Rio de Janeiro. In 2017, she received Best Documentary Prize at the Warsaw Film Festival for a documentary "How to become the Pope?". Her student fiction film "Apocalypse" was awarded at FEST, Roja, Cinemaiubit, in Bytom and at "Łodzią po Wiśle".

Paulina Ziółkowska is an animation and special effects student at our school. She studied graphic design at the Fine Art Academy in Wrocław. So far, she has made the animated films: "Blok", "O Matko!" & "Na zdrowie!". The film "O Matko!" received many prizes at the Polish and international festivals: among Grand Prix Golden Jabberwocky" in the "Anima" Competition of the "Etiuda & Anima" Festival. The film "Na zdrowie" received a Special Mention at Berlinale.

The winners of the 9th Radio 3 Talent Competition will be announced at the Gala to be held on 10 September at 7 p.m. in the Agnieszka Osiecka Studio.

Girls, we’re keeping our fingers crossed!

Radio 3 Talent Competition has been organized since 2010. It promotes and rewards young artists at the start of their career path. Among the competition participants there are most promising artists, students or graduates of arts schools who are under 30. The names of the candidates are put forward by the schools themselves, or some culture institutions and foundations. The prizes (in the amount of 10,000 PLN for the winners and 3,000 PLN for the finalists) are awarded in three categories: Theatre, Film and Visual Arts.
