During this premiere there was no tuxedos, bouquets of flowers or posing for celebrity photos. There was theatrical scene in the corridor, hospital pyjamas and smiles on the faces of our viewers, not a common sight there.

First year acting students under supervision of Małgorzata Flegel and Jadwiga Sobczak prepared stories about “The Three pigs”, “Bird radio” and “Trąbalski the Elephant” by Julian Tuwim. The spectacle was performed in the hospital at Sporna Street and its viewers were hematology oncology patients, their parents and hospital staff.

Teatrino, which operates as part of Acting Faculty in our School, has been operating for years, it’s performances are for children, also those seriously ill, forced to stay away from home for a long time, for the residents of small towns and villages that are at risk of cultural exclusion.

It is a lesson of humility - we hear from acting students and their lecturers after another performances they prepared. Making an artist does not only come from learning the technique – as we heard in an interview with Prof. Zofia Uzelac, Dean of Acting Faculty, dedicated to Teatrino – We want to show them the world, make them sensitive to other people and their problems.
