The Photography Program in the Cinematography and Television Production Department is a five year full-time Master's Program and its fundamental goal is to provide an education that formulates one’s own artistic statements and perfects one’s professional abilities in connection with the professional creation of photographic pictures.

In the course of studies students will get and develop the abilities to formulate their own artistic statements. The educational program allows for learning and mastering the creative processes of classic, creative and commercial-use photography. Learning chosen subjects in aesthetics allows students to understand the essence of the process of creating photographic images. Subjects dedicated to the knowledge of techniques and technology, complemented with topics about composition, set design, scenography, arranging a photographic set, the history of photography – prepare future graduates for work in photography agencies, the press, publishing houses or photographic galleries.
The program ends with a diploma exam, which consists of a presentation of practical work in the form of a series of photographs, a multimedia exhibition, or installation, as well as writing and defending a theoretical Master's Thesis.

To apply for the entrance exam, please submit the following documents:

  • all required documents listed below;
  • portfolio and candidate’s own creative work, which should contain: photographic work (minimum format: 24 x 30 cm, quantity: 10 to 15 pictures), and photographs on the following themes:
    „Still nature perceived”, 5-7 photographs in format 18 x 24. The surrending reality is the object here. Still nature is a symbol or a sign of vanishing, death and transitory welfare. Still nature should no longer be treated as a studium of a bottle and fruit put on a table. Create a series of photographies which will be consistent in form and essence, perceived fragments of reality, which present the above mentioned aspect. The photographer should be a finder, a searcher penetrating fragments of space, overlooked and -omitted in everyday life.
    „A story about nothing”, a sequence of 3-5 photographs in format 24 x 30 depicting everyday life activities. Creating a sequence and narration is to transform them into rituals.

    Attention! Portfolio and candidate’s own creative work (including both photographic tasks) should be brought to the exam.

The deadline for submitting application documents and creative portfolio is on the 30th of May 2012.
