Supervising the organizational and economic processes of film, television and theater production requires a wide practical as well as theoretical background. At the Department of Film Art Production and Management the range of subjects taught cover:

  • organizing work and management techniques,
  • organization and economics of culture particularly the cinematography and television programmes,
  • the European Union copy rights, politics and audiovisual legislation,
  • technology of audiovisual communication – film, television and photography,
  • the processes of creating audiovisual products and techniques of collaboration with other film branches (screenwriting, directing, cinematography, set design – decoraction, costume, sound, music, editing),
  • basic elements of film art and television programmes,
  • history of film and television as well as chosen aspects of history of art, literature and theater.

Future related work positions are with:

  • Organization and management of film and television production.
  • Creator’s assistant work in film and television.

APPLICATIONS AND DOCUMENTS

To apply for the entrance exam submit documents at the President’s Office:

    Original or copy of high school diploma
  • Photocopy of your personal identity card (university will verify its legitimacy)
  • Five current photos of candidate (passport size photo for standard ID cards)
  • Proof of payment for entrance exam

Deposit the exam fee of ... PLN into account number 21124015451111000011666233 in the PEKAO S.A. V O/£ód¼ Bank. 

A candidate’s admission application should contain their correct living address and correspondence address with the postal code and a telephone number.
All required documents together with proof of payment of the exam fee should be found in their attached application folder.  After submitting the documents the examination fee is non-refundable.

The term for full-time studies ends 10 June 2010

The expected date for the entrance exam is:

  •  1st week of July 2010. 

CRITERIA

To be accepted to the entrance exam submit your application with all the required documents at the President’s Office.
• documents mentioned in the guidebook
• paid exam fee of ... z³.

 The entrance exam includes a qualification conversation about modern knowledge of artistic, cultural and social phenomena as well as the issues of mass means of communication.
The candidate’s evaluation will also take into consideration their predisposition for the profession with attention to its specifics and consider the grades the graduate received at High School (polish language and foreign languages).

GETTING TO THE SCHOOL

The Cinematography and Realization/Production Department of Television programs are found on the campus of the Polish National Film School of Television and Theatre (in Leon Schiller’s name) on Targowa Street 61/63 in £od¼, Poland.

  • From the £ód¼ Kaliska train station it is possible to reach the school by the following trams: 8, 10 or 14 getting off at the „Targowa” tram stop on Pi³sudskiego Street.
  • From the £ód¼ Fabryczna train station it is possible to reach the school by the following trams: 1, 4 or 5 getting off at the Fabryczna tram stop on Kiliñskiego Street.
  • From the £ód¼ Lublinek airport it is possible to reach the school by taxi, which takes about 30 minutes and costs roughly 27 PLN.

STUDENT RESIDENCE

During the exam period it’s possible to reserve living accommodations (one must pay for) with advance notice given to the Dean’s Office of the Directing Department.  Our Student Housing Dormitory, where we ordinarily place candidates, is located on 189/191 Piotrkowska Street

There is a cafeteria and student buffet on the school’s campus where students can purchase food during the exam period.
