ENTRANCE  EXAM  FOR  PAID  FULL-TIME  EDITING  STUDIES  (5-YEAR MA PROGRAM)

TERMS AND DATES
The entrance exam lasts 1 day and takes place between the 21st and 23rd of September. The candidates will be informed about the exact date during summer vacations.

The Film and Tv Directing Dept. is located on the campus of the School on Targowa Str. 61/63, building A. The office of the Editing specialisation is located on Targowa 57, building W.

APPLICATION

Candidates should send all the documents (listed below) and portfolios before June 30th to the address:

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:

  • application - personal information form (theapplicationform.doc). The application should be filled in before printing;
  • high school graduation diploma, which should be:   
    - legalised by the Polish Consul in applicant`s country of residence (or alternatively Apostille of the diploma should be provided), 
    - translated into Polish by a sworn translator indicated by the Polish Consul;
  • certificate stating that the high school graduation diploma allows its holder to apply to all types of higher education institutions ( including universities and academies) in the country where the diploma was issued in case the diploma does not state this).      
    The certificate can be obtained from:   
    - education authorities in the country of the diploma issue,    
    - Polish Consul in the country of the diploma issue, 
    - diplomatic post on the territory of Poland of the country in which the diploma was issued;
  • documents providing information regarding the course of secondary education leading to high school graduation diploma such as a list of subjects taught, number of tuition hours and grades obtained;
  • copy of your passport;
  • curriculum vitae/resume  
  • four current photos (passport size photo for standard ID cards)
  • proof of payment for entrance exam

PORTFOLIO of the candidate’s own work should consist of:

- description of your own artistic work,
- select samples of their own editing work in DVD format (total time of all samples: maximum 10 minutes),
- documentary or fiction photoscript (an ordered and numbered set of the candidate’s own photographs – maximum 15 photos in the 10x15 or 13x18 format) 

It is possible to include other works of art (e.g. photographs) or literature.

CONSULTATIONS

The consultations for candidates will be held on:
the 10th of March
the 31st of March
the 21st of April 

ENTRANCE EXAMINATION

The exam will be held in Polish or English:
the first stage - 15.06.2012
the second stage - 02.07.2012
the third stage - 03.07.2012. 

The exam is competitive. The total sum of the points a candidate earns as well as the number of places available in the first year of studies will decide if the candidate is accepted to the programme.

The goal of the exam is to test and evaluate the candidate's artistic and career predispositions.

This exam includes:

  • defense of personal editing works,
  • oral explanation and defense of the set of photographs in the portfolio,
  • conversation about modern artistic and cultural phenomena.

The Recruitment Commission’s decision can be challenged or repealed only if the recruitment commission broke the promised recruitment conditions and proceedings.
