- It was a great challenge to accumulate this vast material, numerous Maria’s texts, and do it in such a way as to reflect Maria’s taste and spirit. That is why we asked many people, who knew her well, some of them from the school, to share their memories of her. Maria was very important to us, you might say the school is hardly the same place without her … – said Prof. Mariusz Grzegorzek, the Rector.
The book was published under editorial supervision of Prof. Tadeusz Szczepański who thanked all those who had their contribution to the book: Rector Prof. Mariusz Grzegorzek, the director of the Film Museum Marzena Bomanowska, Maciej Dowgiel, whose task was to collect all Maria’s texts, and Jarosław Czembrowski, who made available a large photo album.

– I believe Maria is somehow here with us today. Just to quote Joseph Brodsky, I hope we „pleased the shadow”.

The book "Soul Seismograph”. Cinema according to Maria Kornatowska" is a joint publication of Lodz Film School Publishing House and the Lodz Film Museum with the partnership participation of Atlas Sztuki..
