Polish photography at its best. Photographs from Lodz Film School exhibited at Slightly Different Photography Festival in Wroclaw.

„Polish photography has never been in a better condition than now. World awards, festivals, exhibitions. We get noticed out of Poland and here as well. One would wish to say „At last!” – says Maciej Bujko, the festival artistic director. The leading theme of this year’s festival is „POLAND NOW!”. The main program comprises three exhibitions: „Roots & Fruits” representing Lodz Film School (curator: Anna Kazimierczak), „Wyborny trup fotografii polskiej” (curator: Adam Mazur) and „Kryzys jest tylko początkiem” (curator: Jakub Śwircz).

The festival organizers speculate about the influence of photography originating from the Lodz Film School on Polish photography in general. The Photography Faculty exhibiting the photographs of our students and graduates entitled the collection „Roots & Fruits”. The authors of the works representing various kinds of photography were awarded at many international and Polish competitions. The following artists exhibit their work in Wroclaw: Katarzyna Bielska, Renata Dąbrowska, Przemek Dzienis, Magdalena Franczuk, Artur Gutowski, Agata Grzybowska, Adrian Jaszczak, Karolina Jonderko, Bartłomiej Jurecki, Irena Kalicka, Katarzyna Maluga, Robert Mainka, Marcela Paniak, Igor Pisuk, Sonia Szóstak, Dominik Tarabański, Tomasz Wysocki and Piotr Zbierski.

The exhibition „Roots & Fruits” is recommended by the head of Photography Faculty, Marek Szyryk, and the curator, Anna Kazimierczak.

The photographs will be exhibited at the Contemporary Museum in Wroclaw from 3 to 13 September.
